A note to myself.
After talking to a combat vietnam Vet friend a few days ago, I remembered a few things, of course ir created more confusion for me, but does confirm a few things, lost in the past, in my world of confusion. Our sgt couldn't leave Vietnam because of some disease, and a truck was blown up on a runway, by an APG round direct hit from the front as it drove down the middle of the runway, trying to get troops to the end that was overrun, by the enemy, instead of setting up a defence at our controlled area on the runway as requested. The SGT survived we think by jumping of the running board he was riding on, before the APG hit.
