What I don't understand, is why Nations have no water to drink? In those water-less nations you see all kinds of sand, simply create lakes inside the nation in the areas of no water and create rivers that run from the ocean to these lakes, just running the other way, into land, not out to the ocean. Sand filters the salt from the water so is a natural filter to the underground streams. And the rivers can funnel throughout the Nation, to a lot of lakes everyone could enjoy.
In our own nation we have diverted fresh water to the ocean after dredging to open up land for grain farmers, and diverted that water to the rivers that flowed to the ocean. Those swamps were like storage tanks for water, that leaked back into the lakes or into the ground to become filtered water stored underground for use, called our water table. so without the swamps that fill in the spring, in the Northern states from the winter thaw, the water fills everything like lakes and drains down to the ocean in the rivers and as summer time comes around, the water table goes down and we have no way to replace the water and cry as we face a shortage. This time we create the problem we have in the summer by greed, draining our swamps for more land. we should have prepared waterways. that drained, so they were wider with ponds that filled as the water drained off, to slow down the drainage, so there is still water draining on into the fall.
We once had the most beautiful nation in the entire world, even after the dust-bowl, when we cause the land to turn to dust, the mistakes we made and created a new way of management that years later they ignored as the greed for more farmland and big business's that tricked people into thinking they were better off farming or using the land then small farmers, because they could provide lots of jobs and we fell for it all and look at where we are now. during the great depression we created the CCC camps and again started taking care of the forests, parks and planting so many trees, it became an enjoyment to travel. But something happened, we fell back into a slump where we thought we needed big business and our natures greenery faded and became ignored, the scams of wild rice patties came and gone and became nasty hazards.
I still see a future of green land among the free where there is plenty of water for everyone and irrigation was outlawed, because the water belonged to everyone, no just some or just landowners and rivers diverted to flow into the dry-est land in our nation ending any water shortage anywhere here at home.
